Ms. Brand spent 24 years in the healthcare industry in various roles - thirteen years in hospital case management,eleven years in pharmaceutical and medical device sales,
and most recently as a recruiter with Thrive Resources, a retained executive search firm serving private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Throughout her career, she has served on advisory boards, run corporate recruiting programs, trained field sales teams, as well as, mentored new hires.
Most recently, Ms. Brand served as a Medical Account Manager for both pharmaceutical and medical device companies. She began her career in health sciences in 2000 working for Janssen
Pharmaceutical (Johnson and Johnson), Alpharma, King and Lupin Pharmaceuticals. As a specialty Medical Account Manager she targeted Pain Specialists, Gastroenterologists,
Neurologists, Orthopedic Surgeons and Pediatricians throughout the Connecticut and New York territories.
Consistently a top sales performer at each company, Ms. Brand was recognized at Johnson and Johnson earning the Field Sales Director award in 2002 and 2004,
was chosen by the management team as Sales Representative of the year in 2006 and was honored as the only Sales Representative in 2007 for achieving sales results
closing in the top 10% for all three of the products she promoted. In 2010, Ms. Brand was selected as District Field Sales Trainer by management at Alpharma/King Pharmaceuticals.
During her tenure in pharmaceutical sales, Ms. Brand worked closely with both Connecticut and New York Managed Care companies winning formulary coverage for products such as
Aciphex (Janssen-Acid Reflux) and Levaquin (PriCara-Anti Infective). As part of the field marketing team at Johnson and Johnson, she successfully launched Reminyl (Alzheimers) in 2002,
and as part of the field marketing team at Alpharma, she launched the Flector Patch (Acute Pain) in 2008. Nationwide growth of the Flector Patch surpassed the company forecast
of $37M by more than $70M with total sales exceeding $100M. This sales performance ultimately positioned Alpharma for a $1.6B purchase by King Pharmaceuticals.
Ms. Brand started her career as a Case Manager at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. One of six Discharge Planners for a 600 bed acute care facility,
she was responsible for patient placement to skilled nursing, terminal care, adult home and sub-acute facilities. She also worked closely with the legal team at Winthrop
offering financial and estate planning to patients and their families. During her tenure there, Ms. Brand was appointed to the Joint Commission on Accreditation for
Healthcare Organizations Committee (JCAHO) from 1999 to 2000.
Ms. Brand earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a concentration in Hospital Case Work from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania.
